I'm a fan, always fancied one but never bothered - looks great, very luxurious as well as the obvious. Rear lights, wow, what a way to chav a really nice car - agree with you on replacing with the originals.

Definately would put the Scooby on the drive though! (it looks like you took the last pic from the passenger seat!)

 

They`re awful aren`t they And on a functional note, as they`re so dark, my revering lights give zero illumination as I`m backing up the drive.. not good

I was in the drivers seat actually and it is back on the drive now

 

I owned one for 4 years, loved it! Don't get original rear clusters, get the LED ones, they look far better!

Exhaust, remap, fast road geometry and michelin pilot sports, then it becomes a proper M3

 

OEM LED`s are over £400 mate and the non OEM ones can be quite **** and dazzle too much. If I drop on some OEM used ones I`ll buy them but for now standard will do as I won`t drive it yet with those awful ones fitted

Where has it gone

 

Mine were the OEM LED's. Expensive but most definately worth it! The only other thing on the facelift rear end is the extension to the boot handle trim. On post 2004 models it extends a couple of inches either side of the number plate. Only geeks like me notice that though!

 

 

Any interest in the Scoob yet Steve, it's still showing an appearance in pic 3, maybe she don't wanna go??

Supersprint exhaust and sports cats plus a remap made quite a difference if you get bored of the power! Not cheap caars to run though!
I've been to the Nurburgring 5 times in mine too. Best lap was 8min45 BTG
My PPP'd WRX is definately slower

 

I had a couple of pm`s but nothing solid. TBH, if I could afford it I`d keep the Scoob, especially if we have snow

Now there`s an idea

I`ll see how it goes Unless you fit a charger, you won`t get a lot more power, maybe a few bhp apparently.

 

hey Steve how does the m3 handling and power compare to the scooby?

 

I`ve hardly driven it yet mate tbh Handling won`t be a patch on a Scooby obviously as it`s rwd but having said that, in the dry they are supposed to be pretty good.

Power...it`s 343bhp but it`s difficult to compare. The power is just constant and instant all the way up to 8500 iirc, not as brutal as a Scooby though. I like both

Tell about it. I forgot how long doors are on coupes I struggle to get in and out when It`s up by the house

Where it`s parked in that pic it actually opens above that section of wall....that`s one reason I had it built lower than the original one

I was just the other day talking to my mate who had a m3 and said it was the best car he has ever had.
when you bought the car did you make sure to check about the rear subframe as there is a recall on all bmw m3's because the rear subframes were cracking on them
and my mate was saying that bmw was fixing them for free if the car is under 10 years old under the recall.
he said only some of them had this issue but if you didnt check best to find out about it
because if it has cracks you could get it repaired for free with the bmw recall

Yeah it`s been done. Cracks under 20mm are fixed with a resin injection (which mine had along with a receipt for £1200) over 20mm they have strengthening plates welded on. I joined an M3 forum to learn before I bought I also learnt how essential the running in service at 1200 miles is

Yeah. Couldn`t see bugger all before I`ve garaged the Scoob now so I`ve reversed up my drive tonight and it was literally like night to day

I started to rub down one of the inner lights so couldn`t really sell them. I bet someone would buy them too
