Default Bad car day...

Two new front tyres needed last week for the BM due to uneven wear. Tyres fitted. Flat tyre in the NS rear two days later - both rears needed replacing (a nail was too near the sidewall to repair, both were part worn on 5ish mm - I hate uneven treaded tyres...). £550.

Then the missus reversed into a car in the supermarket today. Details exchanged, insurance costs will go mental despite minor damage.

Oh very darn.

Not long after she gouged the van too...

If only minor damage.. Could you afford to offer to pay the other persons repair yourself and not go through the insurance ?

That's what I'm considering. I paid for the van repair and it was only £470.

When she did the van I used it as an excuse to fit chrome side bars. I might get a full pro machine polish and detail out of this one; it needs it!

Never mind the chrome side bars, you need an external roll cage!

Bad luck though.
We needed a new rear tyre on the Alpina after less than 2k miles.... fooking Allen key through it and unrepairable.

I admit that I was grateful the nail went through a fairly worn (4ish mm) tyre rather than one of the brand new ones!

I am considering making her drive an old series Landy...

Thats why i never buy my MRS decent motors, she'd do well in a demolition derby, bumps them up kerbs, opens doors onto just about anything, regularly scrapes them on god knows what, every time i wash it there is a new mark of some sort, when i ask her what happened, i get the shrug of the shoulder and the famous "i don't know", but to be fair she does park in an NCP everyday, i feel sorry for those that park near her, and it's why i always park out of the way and take 2 spaces in super markets.

She's a pretty good driver usually but this has been a bad six months (first prang ever with the van). She learned in a (new at the time) 2.0 WRX wagon, is brilliant at reversing a boat/trailers and generally pretty good. Maybe it's age...?! This latest incident was very daft!

yep mine was great too, she used to drive big horse trucks and trailers as well, rides bikes, past her bike test before me, even passed a bus driving test, then i bought the lexus and a couple of mercs and it went down hill from there, so she's back in **** boxes now till she learns some respect.
