Nissan Qashqai
Good evening chaps wonder if anyone could give me a little advice. My old fella has just retired and is wanting to buy a Nissan Qashqai, not brand new but maybe 3 years old. He can't decide on which engine to go for diesel or petrol and which size engine too? Decisions decisions. The 1.5 diesel engine seems popular but wonder if a little underpowered. Anyone got one, been in one? Any experience or advice which i could pass on to him would be great. Thanks SN community

My Dad has the 2l petrol auto. It goes ok, no complaints. If you put your foot down it will move, but its mostly driven below 3k rpm. I've used it a few times and preferred it to its replacement (1.8 Picasso) mostly because it handles so much better through the corners.
I've used to transport speakers and PA gear + passengers all at once, and it seemed to cope fairly well. Wasn't too slow considering the extra weight it was carrying.
Also driven it on the B roads of our countryside, and it wasn't too bad. Felt like a bus compared to the scooby, but its a massive difference to the Picasso.
The waft factor on the motorway is quite good too.

I was looking at these yesterday as well.
Checking online for faults/ problems they don't seem to be so bad - around town the DPFs can clog up putting it into limp mode, on the motorways it seems the mirrors are very big and cause wind noise and a few owners have complained about clutches going on the manual cars
It seems there are 2wd ones as well as 4wd so check which ones your looking at
