injectors. If it is a Bosch engine then be careful as they cost anything to a grand if they go.

Ok, cheers. Thats the problem with these modern dregs the fuel systems seem to fail allot at cost big bucks to repair/replace.

Have also looked at 406 hid estates they seem a good buy

They are a good crack for the money but the stuff that does go wrong can be expensive to fix. Injectors are a fair bit to replace.

Duel Mass Flywheel.
They are very good cars and they have their issues but it's not to say they are any worse then anything else. What age are we talking?

Just to add - i owned a 54 plate and only got rid as the DMF was getting very noisey (£700 upwards to sort with a new clutch which is no different to similar cars from Vauxhall etc) but i would not think twice about buying one again if it was a new shape model. Got the company one parked outside at the moment which is a pleasure to drive on the mways

The injectors can be refurbed but be sure to use genuine fuel filters as they have better filtration.
The fuel pump breaks down and the deposits from it are what kills the injectors.
£400 for the injectors refurbed.
Ours is now on 233k with refurbed injectors

Compared to the list of common faults on VW crap, it looks like Ford is a much better buy these days. I asked my trusted mechanic what cars he'd buy based on how often and how expensive it is when he has to repair them, and he said Ford's are amongst the best these days. Anything VAG is tatt, and even the (BMW) Mini he said was absolute crap. He also praised Vauxhall's, but I could never contemplate that unless it was a Monaro or VX220.
