Tuning VW 170TDI Engine

Thinking about chipping my Tiguan 170TDI.

Anyone chipped this engine before?

Any issues with Clutches etc?

Thinking of using a Revo map. Anyone had any experience with Revo, good or bad?

Howdoo,

a mate has a Touran 170 DSG that he's had chipped a couple of months. I dont know who by etc but he says teh difference is incredible. So much nicer to drive, smoother and more efficient?! It returned 47mpg before quite comfortably... I wonder what it does now then?

Its only a recent chip but I'll ask him if its any help to you?

Plus did he have the DPF filter removed at the same time?

I've got the 170 in my A4.

Have had the DPF replaced with a stainless pipe. EGR valve has been replaced with a straight pipe and the EGR cooler has been removed and the coolant re-plumbed accordingly.

Mines got a mild map on it and it is quite quick - when it goes properly. Have all sorts of issues with mine at the moment.
