Car viewing
Well today i drove 80 miles to look at a Civic Type-R (3rd i've viewed) and it wasn't nice at all.
Reading the forums about common problems i found rust on the front of the roof and the bonnet peppered with chips (2009my btw) so decided i'd never be happy with that car and the other 2 were the same
I looked at a couple more cars while i was there (Clio 200, STi) and ended up signing on the dotted for a car i'd never thought of

Abarth 500
It's in white and has all the factory extras and is immaculate
I had a Mito a year ago and thought it would be the same but it's totally different - ok can be considered a girlie car with it's "cute" looks but it has enough toys to keep me entertained for a while.
It has 135bhp but Angeltuning do a remap addind 38bhp for less than £300 so something for the future.
Anyone else owned 1?

My mate is selling his Championship White FN2 Civic Type R if you're interested?
He's a proper Honda fan boy so it's pretty much mint, even comes with a second set of wheels that he used for the winter so he could keep the white wheels in as good a condition as possible.

I tried a 500 (1.4), nicely specc'd car, just too tight (and im not fat and only 5'10), my arm kept hitting the door and its not quite tardis like inside (new car to drive to and from work), but if you like it, hope it suits you nicely

i only drive 80 miles a week (less if i use the bike) so something small is ok and although it is nippy there are a few Remaps and a TMC tuning box available to take power to 170ish bhp which will make it fun
This car has over £2k of factory options such as full black leather, 17" alloy upgrade, decals, upgraded stereo package, red calipers, dual climate, etc and the price i've paid is way less than basic spec cars at £1500 more on PH, AT , etc

Paint thickness on the Honda's is crap tbh. I had a Milano Red 09 CTR for 3 yrs on lease and it only covered 23k miles yet the front was peppered with stonechip down to the white primer. Even had them on the sides of the doors. Compare that to my neighbors 320D same age & mileage and there was hardly anything visible. Was glad I leased it tbh.

Its got a good badge and Schumacher drives one due to their links with Ferrari. Everyone thought it was great then.
I think they stand out more than the Type R. You see loads of them around and I couldnt care less but Ive never seen a 500 Abarth and it would certainly be more interesting than another boy racer Honda.

Just sold my 09 Championship White FN2 CTR and the paint finish was shocking.
The paint is so soft that it chips really easily. I spent literally days trying to get a finish on the paint I was happy with. Ended up buying the entire Werkstat Acrylic Kit to get a decent look.
Happy to see the back of it tbh

Wicked little car, I had one from Avis for the day and loved it. It totally is a fanny magnet, take no notice of the Drakar Noir wearing homophobes.

Well had it a week and gave it a full detail today
Ordered a TMC tuning box which is supposed to take it to around 165- 170bhp and 0-60 to 7.5 so looking forward to that
The standard exhaust sounds quite sporty - sort of mini Ferrari (ish) - so i think i'll keep that unless it falls off
Quite pleased with the 39mpg in normal mode - maybe 34 in sport around town

That is a lot of money for a Fiat. Thats double Astons Sygnet, a similar concept.
I have a soft spot for sporty Fiats. I nearly bought a Bravo T Jet Sport last year but opted for a B200 Turbo instead, just not enough BHP but they do look nice. If they made an Abarth model I would have gone for one in an instant.

Umm,
Ive owned the '06, 31,000 miles B200 Turbo for 8 months and these have failed/needed replacing.
Front left calliper,
Steering rack,
iPod connector,
Tailgate (rusted) - all 4 doors have already been replaced.
Both front springs,
Both front shock absorbers,
Both front bump stops,
Starter motor
Front Anti roll bar,
Front drop links,
Rear drop links,
Rear ARB bushes.
Total would have come to around £11000.
Ive had to pay around £500 for excess and non covered parts under warranty. Apart from that its been brilliant
