my dads just got one of these, and im going to get some oil for it. it is a 1997 3.1 turbo d
what would be better out of these please, euro car parts list both for this car.

The second one mate, you don't want fully synth for it, change the oil every 5k and you you won't have a problem, get a grease gun and grease all the nipples on the drive shafts and any others you can find, from memory there are about 6.
I have had my 3.1 for 6 years and it has not missed a beat in 60,000 miles it has 92000 on it now, and it gets treated like its on the paris dakar very often, then it does 1250miles in a day at 90mph turns around and does it all over again the following week. fantastic motor.

As above. the 3.1s is little trouble, although for £1.23 difference in price there's not much to choose betwen either.
If it were the 3.0DOHC engine instead I would say the opposite as they are very fussy on oil, or more likely I would of told you to push it off cliff before it racks up any big bills
