EVO 7 in town?
#1
EVO 7 owners!
I am seriously considering an EVO 7, but I need it as an everyday car much of it in town traffic. I also read in some magazines that the EVO is not in its element at constant low revs, low speed driving.
Any experience will be appreciated.
thanks

My evo behaves just like my scooby did in traffic. The Evo throttle is more sensitive but you soon get used to it.
The problem with using an evo for a commuter car is the amount of attention it creates....But if you like that kind of thing then fine.

from what i've read and spoken to ppl, the scobby sti version7 is a better bet for day to day drivin and not as raw a an evo7....... the evo7 seems to prefer the open road n tracks............

Zooey,
I've had my Evo 6 for 18 months and done 40,000 miles in it. A good mix of town driving and motorways as well as the occasional country lane blast.
All have been handled fine.
Yes, the suspension is rock solid around town and you feel every pothole but you get used to it.
Yes, you do get a lot of attention and stares but again, you get used to it and my car is parked in a secure car park at work so that's not much of a problem either.
However, the best thing to do is to go and test drive one for yourself. I know there are quite a few Evo owners who say that they couldn't live with their car on a day to day basis. I have with mine and don't find any problems but again, it's personal opinion.
Cheers
Andy

wrxeat,
The RSX comes as standard without AYC and without ABS.
It is meant to be a lot more adjustable in cornering than with AYC but I've never driven an AYC equipped car so I couldn't say for certain.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread but i see some evo6 owners here!
A fellow in my tuners shop sells an evo 6 x-treme look. Apparently it is a sprint underneath the x-trme look, so no AYC (thank god). But this car has a lot of goodies: 5000 km on the clock,HKS full xhaust, MoTeC parallel ecu with antilag and launch control, HKS large i/c with water spray, aqua mist water injection with rear al wter tank, HKS racing bov, hks induction, ralliart fr rr alloy strut braces, samco hoses all round in the enbine bay plus some ralliart piping and carbon covers (xcuse my ignorance, evopeeps), AP 6 pots 330, Jumbo Proflex fully adj suspension: bump, rebound fast bump, fast rebound, and some uprated aluminum sub-frame thingie in the rear transmision and uprated rear drive shafts (?). Apparently gearing is also closer than the tmak edition. Can u shed some light is its wiorth the 40.000 GBP the owner is asking.

Stelios,
If you look at this link, you will see the original spec of the extreme and the original asking price of £41995. Therefore I think that the extreme being sold may be slightly overpriced but it does have upgraded suspension and brakes.
