Default Help needed ASAP!!!...

Hi people, I have a Lexus is200 and need some alloys asap, as the originals are goosed, and not holding the seal on the tyres - basically my car is sat at work with 4 flat tyres... I need to know, what other makes will fit my car. Looking on fleabay for 2nd hand alloys with tyres, but not many for Lexus - I don't want to get another set of originals for it, as this is a problem across the whole of the is200 range, **** allys. For example, will toyota or Mazda alloys fit?? Cheers!!!

Why don't you just get the alloys sand blasted? Wifes old rover had same problem and once the edges were blasted (or whatever they did to them) they held pressure fine.

I've fixed this by getting the tyres removed, wire brushing off the corrosion and repainting the insides of the rims

a sh*te temp fix is take of tyre, wire brush and then use bead sealer, black minging stuff, should slow down the punctures long enough to get a set of rims sorted.

imo go on a lexus forum for fitment guides mate

bear in mind most alloys that are ageing have some form or corrosion on wheel lip tho.

once it started only way to remedy effectivley is blast and re-paint ime

Sounds like the alloy is porous. Were they repainted because paint often provides a seal and can cure this.

yeah, blasted and painted both times - its like the alloy has some sort of reaction, and just pushes the paint off over time - its a royal pain in the @rse to be honest! Could have bought a set of new alloys with tyres for what I've spent trying to solve the problem! Been looking on Ebay, but not that many aftermarket 2nd alloys for a Lexus, that's why I was wondering if other jap models would fit??
