All newish diesels may cost a fortune to fix, is it the fuel pump that costs a few £k if it lets go? I have one myself & it regularly flashes up the "anti pollution warning", google it & you will see it could be a 1,000,001 things as a fix

Saying that mine does 35k miles a year with barely a murmor

My mum has one of these the 1.6 version that the turbo has blown, the garage i took it to said he'd done 9 last year alone and that peugeot know about it and have recalled all cars up to 3 years old, so make sure its been done already on any you look at as its not cheap to fix!
Having said that in the 6 years she's had it from new its never missed a beat and she drives a lot with work, so as long as its been done they are reliable
The 2.0 HDI engine is meant to be the best

2.0hdi is a good engine, got the 110bhp one in my 406 and no problems with 95k on it so far. One of my local cabbies has over 300k miles on his 2.0hdi and still going strong

Just check everything over, switches, electrics etc. Check all the stalks work, horn, indicators cancel etc as Peugeot have been known for problems with those, looking at £350 fix if any of those don't work as its one unit in the steering wheel for the lot.

Take a look here, Pugs are never going to be the most reliable cars in the world, but i've never had major problems with them
