Any ford mechanics?
Went to check oil/fluids, key won't open bonnet
Googled it and people are saying stick a long screwdriver though front grill and bang something....tried and failed
Next was take **** guard off under car and twist the plastic bar that goes from the barrel to the catch? Mine seems to be a cable ragging on the ****ing thing does nothing
Anyone any ideas

Use the spare key and WD40.
The main key thats used daily wears out as its crappy soft brass - it'll start the car as the ignition barrel wears in sympathy. It happens all the time with Fords of all ages and petrol fillers, boots, bonnets etc.

Problem is now you've used the hammer and screw driver, you've properly f***ked it up now!! Only option left is to hit it harder, with mole grips to turn the screwdriver once in. or get the drill out.
