Default Any ford mechanics???

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows the ford focus st 2 mechanics? Right the traction control is cutting in at 50mph and cutting all power untill i either drop below 50mph or turn the traction control off. With the traction control switched off its fine. Been into the ford garage but they could not find the problem from there computer so wants to charge me £102 per hour to diagnose the problem.
Please any help would be great....

Sounds like a dodgy wheel speed sensor ring is corroded so that the signal is diminished.
the air gap becomes bigger which doesnt affect the signal until it speeds up.

^^^^^^^^

Agreed..

Reluctor ring,Wheel speed sensor or control unit itself. Water ingress into control unit plug can cause this fault..

Thank you for your help
Where would you start? i have cleaned the plug ontop of the abs sensor on the drivers wheel sprayed it with wd40 took her out up past 50 and nothing, parked her up then an hour later took her out to make sure it was resolved and as soon as reached 50mph it done it again
would it be worth changing the abs sensor 1st? How could i finger point which wheel the problem is coming from? Not sure if relevant either but had a wheel bearing replaced 6 months ago on front drivers wheel, could that be linked?

Maybe...

You need a diag check to at least give you a direction in which to follow..

See what fault codes the diag says, then start either manually testing or using a scope..

The only thing you can do is check there is no physical damage to reluctor/wiring/sensor..

I had a similar problem with ABS being disabled. Unless you know which corner/s is causing the problem then you could spend alot of time wasted. Either take it to an independent garage cheaper hourly rate. Or buy a decent code reader that can read ABS traction control codes
