My mum is getting her motability car and i said i would pay the advance payment as i was going to sell the shogun anyways, ithought i had until middle of december to pay, but ford called today to say car is here next week! so have to move fast

As someone who's actively looking for a 4x4 as a 'shed' winter car, I can say that anything decent is flying out the doors!

So far I've missed out on 5 such vehicles within a day of them going on sale.

Can't help you with the value, but don't let the dealer tell you 'big 4x4's aren't selling in the current climate...'

As it happens, I've found a '51 plate Shogun Pinin Elegance with 90k miles, 12 months MOT, for £1500.

Have a look on parkers or usedcar expert - sure if google will find quite a few places that will give you a rough idea of the value of it.
Like Zip106 I'm looking for a 4x4 for winter / offroad use (ideally a shogun) but its a bit too new / more than I would be prepared to pay, as a second vehicle and the £400 road that that I think your mums will be !
All the best with the sale.

Although the car can take it, the mileage kills it a little, even at px they still bid well under cap below irrespective of condition.
Get it on autotrader & research your car within 200 miles, make it the cheapest like for like by £100 & your in.

Good Luck
