just got a v40 turbo 2ltr

idea was to buy cheap repair then sell on

sorted the idle out but it wont go more than 100 yards.

put new plugs in and they came out black.

fuel pump works as took the filter off but one end the fuel was coming out black!!!!!! .

electric pump works as ran it without filter

petrol don,t really smell like petrol and we set a little on fire and smoke was black .

tank nearly empty so gonna run it out and put a new filter on as well .

also the fan don,t seem to cut in but checked the rad and see no fan switch so does the car temp senser do both

If you're buying to fix and sell to make money, then maybe you should,

a) Know what you're buying, and

b) Know how to diagnose and fix cars

Drain out what sounds like a petrol/diesel mix in the tank and refill with just petrol. Clean the plugs, change the fuel filter.

remove the fuel line from the filter and pump through the new clean petrol.

Replace the fuel line and try to start it.

thanks for the friendly advice was gonna do that any way.

got the car running was air pipes split and a air one way valve (volvo only) that was broke .

i,m gonna keep it as my daily and sell my old banger while its worth money and runs.
