I went from my Impreza to Evo IX (got bored quickly with it) then recently on to this 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG with its tiny 5.4 V8!

The only mod I was ever going to do to it was a decat with X-pipe replacing the single pipe underneath with 2 x 2.25" pipes feeding the original AMG mufflers, the result is

Watch with a capable (bassy) sound system......sounds immense!

What's the performance like? Is it a gas guzzler?

It sounds awesome.

Could you do a film without the car being in the garage, the resonance makes it sound, sort of, not real life, ie the boom.

Performance in a straight line is quicker than my previous modded Impreza and Remapped Evo IX, it dont go round corners as well but I accept that its not meant too!

Fuel is exactly the same as Impreza/Evo overall about 20mpg. Running costs so far is cheaper as I dont spend anything on mods (except this one!), nothing has gone wrong yet in 4.5k miles.

I will do a drive by video, I dont think it being in the garage makes too much difference to the sound as its exiting straight outside.

Having this done gives me the grin factor I loved so much from the Scoob, and what the Evo lacked so much off.......character, noise, soul!!!!!
