Jaguar XKR 5.0
As some may know I have been a sales exec with Jaguar for nearly 10 years now, unfortunately we don't get to drive the 'heavy' stuff as often as we would like.
Yesterday however my boss chucked me a key and said 'take the XK for the rest of the weekend, you have been having to cover for holidays and not had any time off, I fuelled it for you as well !'
Thinking my birthday had arrived late I went outside at finishing time expecting to take our white XK coupe with black wheels, instead when I pressed the button it was the XKR that opened up !
The 35 mile trip home reminded me why I love the brand !
With 510PS on tap from the 5.0 supercharged V8 it absolutely flies !
Just growls, shrugs its shoulders and chews up anything in its path !
If I had been on the autobahns I'm sure an indicated 160 would be showing in no time, acceleration is absolutely relentless.
It is so capable that you become de-sensitised to the speed.
And it's built in Britain !

Love all the Jaguar range, they are truely stunning cars.
One small gripe though are the terrrible "fake" exhausts on the more vanilla Jaguary XF's. Awful looking things, especially as you can see that it just a tailpipe cover bit.

Worked in the jaguar plant in halewood for 2 years. Jags are ****. Build quality poor due to low staff morale.
I even owned an x-type for the best part of a year. Absolute money pit.
Your job sounds ok though

I used to deliver cars many years ago and drove a XKR 140+ miles to the new customer, sat nav said 240 miles and fuel range gauge said 230 miles (or something similar). I took it steady and when i got there there was 1/2 a tank left
The return car was a Daimler (supercharged - same engine?) and i was on a flying run, topped out at 155mph (felt like i was doing 70mph), the charger whine was adictive and it just kept on pulling - that used a full tank and some extra
great cars until something goes wrong
