Problem with the Mrs' Vectra
Morning All,
My mrs' 2.2 Vectra (06 plate) seems to have lost power like it is in Safe Mode or something but we have no dash lights on, it was in for a service 2 weeks ago. It still revs through the ranges and eventually reaches a reasonable speed, just takes forever!!
Anyone have any ideas before i take it to the garage?
Cheers
P.S weather is loooking promising for the weekend.......Scooby time

Is it Diesel??? My sister-in-law has the same problem with her diesel Vectra, loses power all of a sudden and goes into limp home mode, Anyway she had it looked at, and they said it's something to do with the Cat coverter. anyway the way she explained it(mechanic told her) Is that if you dont use the car often and only do short journeys the cat-converter gets full of crap, she did say there was some sort of thing on the cat that shoots a bit of diesel into the cat to get rid of it, but its not working properly(supposed to cost loads to fix, thats why she didnt have it fixed)
Think at the moment she has a garage clean it out every month or two at a cost of £90. And the car is now up for sale, but every month it seems to be playing up. Pretty sure its a 07 plate Vectra 2.2 diesel

I hope it isnt the coil pack as i had that changed only a few years ago!! as my last big problem was that as the car kept cutting out. Unless they are renound for this in these cars.
Its a 2.2 petrol mate, however she does drive to work half a mile as she is lazy! (shhhhh i didnt say that) The car isnt losing power, its just not there full stop from start up...

Typical 2.2 (Vectra c?) in a two ton motor. I had an elite with a 2.2 petrol and my mrs' Ka would spank it. mine didn't lose power, just didn't have enough to start with....If I turned all the toys on it would nearly stall.
