Default The best Nissan GT-R 2012 review iv seen

Excellent quality video of the changes to the new 2012 GT-R. Standard car does a 2.8 0-60 sprint. I want one!

As i'm bias what is everyone's thoughts regarding the new car being worth £69k?

I think the MY11 is worth £69K, but i don't think it's worth £14k more than the previous model.....

KJ200SX- Remap tranforms this car into a total animal!

It's still a lot of car for the money when you bear in mind you can buy a Audi hot hatch for £40 k these days, but I still can't get excited about the GTR mainly because it is auto and does not have the mystique of previous GTR iterations. Admittedly that is subjective but R32/33/34 GTR just have a certain something, plus the racing pedigree and exploits on the track. I like manual cars because of the control and experience they give you.

£14k extra does seem alot. I think id get the older one and spend a few k on it and with the change buy another 10k car.

For the price of the nearest Porsche competitor you could get a GT-R AND Subaru C400 Cosworth with the change

Have to agree, I would still buy an R34 GTR even if I had £70k to spunk.

That's because Nissan started selling the GT-R at a loss. Just like Ford did with the MK1 Focus RS, and Bugatti do with the Veyron.

"IF" the Journalists are correct, the true selling price of the GT-R should be approx £100k. Just like the Limited edition GT-R was.

But if they'd started selling it at £100k, it would have been priced the same as the 911 Turbo, making it not the bargain it was (still is at £70k) and surely people with £100k to spend would choose the 911 every time?

Cars have got bigger what can you say?

32-34 got heaver with each generation but the 33 has a longer wheelbase than the 32 or 34, it was criticised for being a 'boat' because of this so they reduced the wheelbase on the 34.

But the 35 is about two inches longer in wheelbase than the 33 but quite a bit wider and a lot heavier.

It's ironic because the 32-34 were basically sedan/family cars at the entry level then the GTR version were like touring car versions with the top level RB motor in them and AWD, but the R35 is bigger/heavier and has no sedan counterpart and has useless back seats.

I have not driven a 35 - like 99.7% of Scoobynet I am a back seat critic

And when you say Titanic - does it feel like a sinking boat when you drive it?

I saw a nice white one today on the M56 with some fancy plate like ALLISON or something. I did drop a cog and had a bit of a play but it zoomed past me in the outside lane at a fair rate of knots.

More like the starship enterprise with double warp drive. Car feels much lighter, smaller and more nimble than your uneducated and speculative expectations may lead you to think if your ever down London I'll convert you to the dark side

To be fair I have heard that of the 35 - it manages to feel much lighter and nimbler than it looks.

Most probably.

I simply compared it to 'FRB', 'cause I didn't know Nissan's official colour.

EDIT:

...I'm guessing it is:-

R34 Bayside Blue
