Default fiesta clutch/neutral problem

Hi all, im after a little help on sumat I was changing a mates pads and disc over today on his 1996 fiesta.
when the car was on the axle stands i started her up checking it was in neutral and the front wheels where spining.
I double checked it was in neutral and it was, so i depresed the clutch and the wheels stopped spinning any ideas what it could be any advice would be appreciated cheers

Not a problem as long as you can stop the wheels with your hand. lots of cars do this

Nothing to worry about

I can't actually be arsed to explain properly, suffice to say 'they all do that sir' As long as it doesn't go anywhere when the wheels are down, it's fine
