MY NEPHEW COOKED HIS MOTOR WE PUT A FRESH 1 IN ON STARTING IT IT REVS FLAT OUT THEN DIES DOWN (THATS ON ITS OWN )IT THEN REVS UPTO 3000 RPM AND BACK DOWN TO TICK JUST KEEPS DOING THAT HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT .I ASK COZ YOU GUYS ANSWER SO QUICK ON SCUB PROBLEMS CHEERS T

Is it petrol or diesel.
If diesel could be overfilled with oil, if petrol or the return spring on the throttle could be busted or the cable trapped. Idle control valve - could be the ECU 'learning' the new engine???

CHEERS PAUL ITS A PETROL MK2 51 PLATE THROTLE CABLE ECT RUNS OK AND CLEAND OUT THROTLE HOUSING ECT IF ITS THE ECU IS IT BEST TO LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING FOR A WHILE TO SORT ITSELF OUT WE CHANGED THE BLOCK AND HEAD ONLY ALL MANIFOLDS IN AND OUT AND WIREING IS FROM ORIGINAL CAR .STARTS 1ST TURN OF THE KEY BUT REVS THE NUTS OFF IT AT FIRST
