Vauxhall Meriva with flex doors........
................what's the point????????
They seem to be trying to sell this car as if the doors, opening like a pair of arms, are embracing you?
Yet when the doors ARE open, you are still faced with a "B" pillar, which actually looks BIGGER than on a standard setup.
So..........what IS the point?

The point is rear seat access.
As I understand it the target buyer is families with young kids who would be seated in child seats in the back. The flex doors are supposed to give easier access for you when loading your kids.
I have no idea if this works or not, but from experience I guess it can be a battle sometimes to get the kids strapped in, while working with your back pushed up against the inside of the rear doors of a normal 4 door, especially if said kids are having none of it!!!
I guess some people will like the flex doors, but its clearly not for everyone.
