Default Volvo C30 Polestar - Would you trade a Scoob for a Volvo ?

We all know the Volvo C30 is built on the Focus chassis, but with 400bhp and 4WD the Polestar could be what the Focus RS should have been. 2.5l turbo 5pot with 4WD sees 0-62 down to 4.6s and they reckon in testing it lapped their test track 6 seconds faster than a similar powered Evo X. How many Scoob and Evo fanatics will Volvo attract if they bring this to market I wonder ?

Lots?

I take it this is proof the Focus chassis was engineered with 4wd in mind but Ford didn't fancy it?

Is it proper 4WD or the haldex system? I have a mate who has a leasing company and has had a number of Audi TT's with the haldex system and he prefers the FWD as when the haldex kicks in it just unsettles the car.

There's many different variants of Haldex. The early ones were a bit rubbish, but as the system has developed it has become much better.

I reckon they'd need to change the name if they decide to sell it here.

Well if it can be mapped with a RWD bias I'm in plus a 5 pot motor

Sadly I don't think they will do it?

Been thinking about a cream and chocolate diesel for a daily driver anyway...that thing is nice, echo the concerns around Haldex though.

And how much will it cost? Got to be significantly less than £40k, ideally £35k, if they want any buyers.

As Volvo is now owned by the Chinese, I'd expect it to be pitched squarely against the FRS.
