Default Little drive in a Gallardo Spyder

Saw a friend on Tuesday evening and went for a spin in a Gallardo Spyder. All I can say is wow!!!!!!!! What a car, loads of power, enough to make my 370bhp classic look sllow, loads of grip, poise, presence etc

Will post a few pics later when I have time.

Wish it belonged to him - it's a car that is hired by his company from time to time for certain clients of his - we just used it during the off hire period that day!

I am quite surprised that you think a Gallardo Spyder makes a genuine 370bhp classic seem slow.

In terms of power to weight - the Gallardo is 287bhp per tonne and a 370bhp classic will be between 275-285bhp per tonne at worst (depends on the age and model of classic).

Also the Gallardo will really lose out on torque to weight ratio as it only as 377 torques and I would expect (I could wrong) a 370bhp Scoob to have at least 340 torques if not much more. At the Scoob will be around 400-450 kgs lighter.

Being a passenger always seems faster tbh. Add noise, wind, comfort and feeling like a rockstar and it probably does feel better

I just found out that a restaurant near me that does a charity supercar day with local dealers. £90 and you get champagne, canapes, 5 course menu (michelin star rated) and last year a passenger ride in a choice of various cars. This year same price but you got to drive them inc Audi R8, Gallardo, DB9 and the Porsche Panamera. Tickets sold out well quick so missed it (gutted) but will deffo be doing that next year.

Yeah, I know it feels faster as a passanger, but this thing was fast - also helps that my friend can actually drive too.

My Type R has 6 speed box, bigger brakes etc fitted so will be heaver than standard - Gallardo Spyder is 1500-1600kgs - 200-300kgs more than mine, and power of over 500bhpm compared to my 370bhp. However, it was very composed on the road, cornered flat and went like stink. I know which I'd choose!
