Anyone had one ?

They look very tempting as they drop into my price range and they are very quick, one crapped on my Golf GTI without much effort.

Not had an LS400, but if you're looking at a big fast car, you could also consider a Saab 9000 Aero.

These have 225BHP as standard (2.3 Turbo), believe 0-60 is around 6.4, 0-100 around 15 secs. Mid range is excellent, not bad round the bends - obviously not as good as a Scoob, though would have thought better round the bends than a Lexus.

It's horses for courses - you'll get more luxury in the Lexus. I think the GS300's with the big wheels can look pretty good.

Don't know what figure you're looking at but £6k would get a very nice 1996 9000 Aero, though believe the Lexus will be more expensive to buy for similar age.

You may hate Saabs, but just thought I'd get in with a possible alternative.. (Me being biased too)

not owned one but had one for a night how cool? it was very quick I though and you could hang the tail out and everything went to pull out of a T junction and it spun the rear wheels so I thought when it changes into 2nd it will stop, when it hit second it kept going so I though when it hits third it will stop it eventually kept spinning in third and by the time it got traction it was doing 70 mph and that was in the dry such a cool motor the dash is very cool and when you put the key in the ignition the steering column moves to the position that it was last time you drove it etc My mates dad had two and the only thing he could find to replace it was a BMW 750iL now that was fast

Thumbs up

My dad used to have an LS400. He's just swapped it for an LS430. Both excellent cars. Not a lot touches them in a straight line unless theyre drivin like a lunatic. Nice and comfy inside. The new ones better than an s-class. Just depends if u like the looks of it. Definately stress free motoring.

I had an SC400 which is the coupe version.

seriously underated car. Imagine my surprise when looking through a book called dream cars, Ferrari, lotus, Porsche - then a Lexus SC400!!!!

Not joking a very acomplished car, still looks good nearly 12 years on! It was RWD 4.0 V8 32v with about 260bhp. Once moving it was quick 60-100 is just 7.5 seconds (new WRX is something like 11 seconds). Great to drive went round corners like a dream and got 25mpg out of it. But like I say that was the SC400.
