Best Mini MPV On A Budget
Im now in need of more boot room. Currently have a pug 306 and its getting on a bit (150k on the clock) and seems overloaded even if going away for a weekend (I have a 9month old baby)
Was thinking of an estate but the wife hates them.
My next thinking is a mini mpv
Ive searched a few but im stumped tbh
I have a 3k budget maybe 3.5k, would like a diesel.
im not liking the berlingo/kangoo style cars.
Scenic, corolla verso, zafira etc take my fancy
Any advice or other suggestions welcomed

I think I'd go Zafira - Vauxhall so very cheap, they are versatile and have loads of space. Not a lot of fun to drive but there are worse out there! Hired one in SW Ireland and it was actually pretty useful.

We have a 1.6 petrol grand scenic in dynamique guise. It is super cheap to run 33mpg knocking about and 40mpg on a run. 18k mile/2 year [on some models, annual on others] service intervals, insurance is £250 fully comp. It is versatile and accommodating and being French handles and rides well but most importantly it is very safe for what it is. There is bags of kit too, remote central locking/alarm, x4 electric windows, electric mirrors, on board computer, e-brake, auto lights, auto wipers, cd player, finger tip audio controls, aircon etc. It is pretty damn slow though which helps on preserving tyres and wearable bushes etc. Renaults have a reputation for being **** but so far [touch wood] so good. We bought our 3 year old example from a dealer, 12 month MOT, scheduled service, x2 tyres, new rear pads fully valeted with books and keys for £3891.00. Admittedly this was January 2009 and we were one of two people who had bought a used car from that dealer in January! Desperate is not the word, but there are some decent one’s to be had at reasonable money now. I would say, with the exception of motorway driving the 1.6 is every bit as economical as the diesels!?!?!
We will change it towards the end of the year for something bigger – but VFM they are great.
Here it is doing what it does!
