'personalised' registration numbers for the masses?
Spotted a brand new Clio today with the reg CL10*** - how tempting it must be to get a new Clio with your initials on etc. This happened when the X5 came out as it was soon after X reg was current and the trend was to have an X5*** plate. Sames goes for the M3 and M5 in 1994/5. Anybody think of any other appropriate model-related numbers in recent times or in the near future? Yet to see an X6 with W4N*** on.

Saw a CL10 plate at the weekend.
Interestingly I have tried to get a couple of plates and failed.
Was looking at an XF and they don't allow an XF plate. Also wanted T8UDA (as the other half is called Truda) and it was not allowed as UDA was a NI terrorist group!!

A passat overtook me the other day with the plate: AP07OGY
I'm not convinced that it was specified as a private plate, but rather, may have just been random chance. Pretty cool plate if he got it for free when he bought the car!

My family's a fan of these, but only when they're relevant to the car, rather than just a person's name or silly word. Here's a selection:
R300VEN: 1997 Venturi Atlantique 300 (now sold)
A1 GTA: 1987 Alpine Renault GTA Turbo (still got)
GIB11 55: 1972 Maserati Ghibli SS (still got)
JAG138L: 1972 V12 E-Type FHC (just sold)
JAG103L: 1984 V12 XJ-S HE (still got)
R4 LOT: 1997 (registered) Lotus Omega (still got)
T13 WRX: 2000 JDM Subaru WRX (now sold)
V6 LUS: 1999 Alfa Romeo 166 V6 Lusso (still got)

I bought ST57 FUN for my old '57 reg Focus ST, I think my ex still has it on the car. I liked that one, subtle but nice if you knew what the car was
I recently looked to see if SK10 VRS was available for the new Skoda Octavia vRS which is currently on order but it's gone, OC10 VRS has also gone I think I'll stick with whatever is put on it.
The one I really wanted was ST08 ART which I was going to try and flog to a well known transport company based in the north of England but I couldn't be @rsed to get up at midnight on the day of its release to try and grab it

I saw one yesterday, not intentionally a private plate, my initials are MJ and the plate was "MJ51 CKO" whick I quite liked.
My auntie had an Metro with F40 MNF as the reg, was at Oulton Park, and there it was, the plate, not the Metro on an F40 !
We have MU31 on retention if anyone wants it, PM me, father in law stuck it on my wifes old Fiat 500, was going to do it again but the one we bought had NKB 500F which suits it better and doesnt make people think why you spent several grand on the plate and sod all on the ratty old heap its on

How about BR10CHE for a French baker, BL10NEL for Lionel Blair or AD10SGB for David Cameron?
Going back to model-related plates, remember the days when you 'had' to have a 555 in your Subaru reg no?

I had R60 HDT (RED HOT) on my F355, a bit contrived I know, but it came with the car. On retention now if anyone fancies it. Also got D1 ONP for the wife, D1ON P looks better but the police don't seem to agree
I have been looking for ages for one to suit me, have enquired about A1 ANP (A1AN P) but to no avail. Could have 4LAN but I don't have 40k spare
