Had a similar tussle with an 850 on Saturday. On the motorway we were pretty well matched, obviously he could have left me if he had wanted to, and risked his licence. Once onto the Lakes roads, he was behind me all the way, but only just. I suspect the mid range performance figures are very similar for the two cars, but he's probably getting a fraction more to the gallon

Thumbs up

Depends on whether it's the E34 or the E39. The E34 goes from 0-60 in less than 7 secs with automatic, & abt 6.5 with manual.
The current one I think abt 6.2 secs for the touring, again with automatic. The auto touring takes 3.3 secs to go from 50-70.
All of them are limited to 155mph.
The pwr of these cars are not weak, abt 165bhp/tonne for the automatic saloon.

I think the old car is as fast as the new car in terms of mid-range. The old car is abt 100kgs lighter than the new car, but the new car has much more torque.

Also, companies like Van Aaken re-chip them which releases a bit more power.
