Anyone help?
The better halfs 106 needs new front discs and pads and theres no way I'm paying a dealer/kwik fit type place 140+ quid to fit them when I can get the parts for less than 30 quid.
I'm not a mechanical numpty but I've never fitted discs and pads before. Can anyone help with how to do it?
I assume I'll just need the discs and pads, I don't need any other fixings? What about copper grease to stop squealing, will I need that? Will I have to bleed the brakes too?
Q's Q's Q's Grateful of any advice - how to tips etc
Thanks
Neil.

Neil I've owned several Pugs over the years and done several brake jobs though never on a 106. Copper grease is a good idea so is getting new screws to hold on the discs. These screws are nearly sure to get buggered getting the discs off. In fact this is going to be your hardest job. You will need a decent sized philips head screw driver for this and a hammer usually. You don't need to bleed the brakes just push the caliper in but be careful your reservoir doesn't overflow. Depending on age and condition you might want to consider replacing the rubbers on calipers and guides. Order these at pug dealership about £10 if memory is correct per caliper.
If you need any more DIY help give me a shout patrick.irvine@ntlworld.com
I will answer but it may take a day or two sometimes as I end up away from home due to work.
Good luck
Pat
