What car should I get next 15k budget
I know its probably been done to death but I am looking to move away from Subaru once i have sold my MY05 Spec C but I am a bit unsure of what I can get for a 15k budget.Ideally i'd like a B7 RS4 but unfortunately funds wont stretch that far so what other alternatives are out there (no diesels please)

is it for an everyday car or weekend play toy?
i have tried to make the move a few times but always end up back in an impreza, i guess one day it will have to come to an end

Nooooo !!! i have had Imprezas for nigh on 11 years now in different guises and to be honest i am getting a bit bored with them along with the image problem and the un necessary attention it gets.I think its time to get something a bit more family orientated but still want the outrageous performance (not ready for the rover 214 bracket just yet)

You'll get a nice E46 M3 for that money.
Possibly an 2006 S3, but you'll need/want it remapping fairly quickly. I went out in one earlier this week, and after my 340bhp STI (blobeye), it felt fairly slow... but was very nice.

More a sensible alternative to the overpriced Cayman S.
Actualy, I think I upset a 350Z today. Had the 370Z out this afternoon. Driving down the A1 towards Scotch Corner (then on towards Leyburn) when I was about to overtake a 350Z. Guy must have just realised he was about to be overtook by the newer car and went all mad man. Decided to go like a bat out of hell to get away from me. Undertook a car just to be sure he proved a point.

i know the older 2001 model s4 was meant to be a down tuned rs4 lump and with a few choice mods and a remap they would run the same if not more power. there was a article done with a big write up i will try and dig it out. i was very shocked on how tuneable they were.
remeber though they are a chunky car so wont feel as good compared to your modded and stripped out spec c with quick rack steering etc. i think you will miss the impreza

To be fair i don't drive the spec c the way it should be driven so the weight issue wouldnt be a problem as i think i would prefer something that makes motorway journeys effortless. As i say i am hankering after a B7 RS4 but funds just wont allow hence the S4 question,as they both share the same size engine and have the same interior but for a lot less than the flagship RS4

My boss had the s4 and he loved it but found there was not enough leg room in the back so px it on an A8 quattro fully loaded. He said the power delivery was brilliant etc, if you did get one I would suggest a trip to one of the tuning companies for an decat and remap and I am sure that will make it pull stronger
