Looks nice.

Will they build it? Doubtful.

Its a Subaru / Toyota partnership. They were both releasing a version.

Was billed in NA form as a Celica replacement.

I think they are going to build it, maybe not in that form.

The various shows they have exhibited at and the interest it has aroused (Me included) means they'd be mad not to build it

Real crowd pleaser that, not trying to be too clever, RWD, good looking, fairly simple, quickish, potentially fairly cheap and tunable, whats not to like.

Taken from the Autocar website Toyota FT-86 G's Sports concept - Autocar.co.uk
Reports suggest Toyota will offer this technology on most future models, starting with the launch of the production FT-86 in late 2010.

The basic one has been cited in a number of magazines as 180ish bhp and £18k with a weight of 1000kg.

I want one too. A desirable 2+2 RWD car is very appealing and sounds more fun than a hot hatch.

I agree. Bit like an RX8 but with half decent mpg.

I can't see it weighing only 1000kg though with all the EU crap over safety etc.

Can imagine the interest/waiting list to be pretty long on a lightweight, RWD coupe with c200bhp, 6-speed box and hopefully a playful chassis.

Cheers,
Grant
