Four seater coupe for around £8k
I wanted a Nissan 350Z or Honda S2000, but both lack the additional seats. Much as I'd love to have a two seater, I can justify an expensive toy that is rarely used.
I think that a four seater could replace my commuter car (Golf TDI) and my fun car (Honda CRX).
I have around £8k to spend, and I'd like four seaters, but don't need four doors. Performance is key, as I have a bland Touran TDI for the family days out!!
I guess the Mazda RX8 is the car I like the most that fulfills my criteria, but open to suggestions (other than a bland 3 series coupe!!)
Cheers
Andy

I'm not sure the Alfa will have enough room in the back for children (aged 3 & 4.5 years old) let alone adults!
The Hyundai although has the V6 engine looks a little cheap.
I think I've convinced myself the RX8 is the way forward, but whether I will live with the mpg into the mid-20's is another thing!

you'll be lucky lol mine averaged 13mpg and that was just normal within speed limit driving. good looking and nice to drive but they really are a pain in the a**e. occasionally mine decided that it didnt want to start when warm. i went to mazda and they said it was normal . and i was having to put in 1 litre of oil per month . traded it in after 6 months and got a car with a proper engine

That's why RX8's are so cheap. I know they wanted a perfect 50/50 weight distribution and the engine set right far back which the rotary does allow. But, why couldn't they just put the engine from the 260ps Mazda 3 MPS engine in it.

A mate has just bought an 08 reg special edition (hi powered version) - all white, lovely alloys and very nice. But the mpg and oil consumption are already hurting badly. They really are dire on fuel yet have almost no torque.

Dunk, I know you sold yours as I spend far too much time on Pistonheads Classifieds! I wanted you to drop another £1000 or so!!
Not a coupe, but unless I get a 911 (which I can't afford), I don't think there is a coupe that ticks the boxes for me!

I can't have a DC5 as someone at work has one!!
I've wanted a DC2 since 1999, but went the AWD turdo'd route instead!
It crossed my mind that I could keep the Golf, and replace the CRX with a DC2, but I think I need to get down to one car!

Another £1000....it was dirt cheap as it was ! (In truth they are a great car, but they don't really excite, effective yes....but actually a bit dull.
(Depending on your miles I'd be very tempted with an Alfa GT 3.2 v6....it'd be ok for smallish kids)
