Been offered one of the above. Anyone got one/had one? What did you think? Decent handling and fuel economy?

And more importantly, can they be REVO'd??

think theyre pretty similar to the a3 tdi quattro weve got,which ive got to say i really like. handles very securely,corners well just not so involving as a scoob. and assuming its the 140hp you can chip it to 170-190 depending on who does it,which moves along quite nicely
i get about 40/42 mpg driving it in my style,dad gets 48/50

Hi Dave, yeah - Swapping for something more practical and sensible for moving away. Was looking at a GT TDi 170, but they wanted way too much for it, so now looking at the 4Motion. Aye, its got the 140 engine, I'm sure it'll be torquey enough, but no doubt it'll be too tempting to get it remapped :-)

P.S - if you still get 42mpg the way you drive, thats still twice the fuel economy of the scoob! hehe

actually a bit more than twice what the scoob gets......
and remap is a must,makes it so much more enjoyable- ours was a superchips bluefin,plug in diy job. £400 and they send you it through the post to fit yourself

Anyone else out there got any experience of these cars?

very easy Al,plug into diagnostic port and download engine map,plug into pc and send the map to superchips, they email the map back to the handset and you plug it back into the diagnostic port again and upload it-took me about half an hour and i can switch between the 2 maps as often as i want though it takes about 5 mins to change
