peugeot 308 diesel
Does anybody have one?
I am looking at a 308 1.6 HDi se.
They look very good, claim good mpg figures and have a lot of toys on the inside.
I can get one on finance at around £200 a month which i think is very reasonable.
If anyone has one can they comment on the car? positive or negative please
Or if anybody looked at one and went for something different, what did you get and why?
all advice/help/criticism appreciated.
(if anybody is wondering i am thinking of selling the scoob and building a kit car so need a car to use along side it)

I don't know a lot about them, but french cars are often a decent package at a cheap price. I guess you are looking at a PCP deal, what is the deposit. Is the finance the most important aspect to you when buying a car?
As for other advise, what do you use the car for, how many miles on what kind of roads etc etc?

Well, i would like it as close to £200 a month as possible.
There is an option for a PCP deal, and a repayment deal (about 20 odd quid difference per month) both with a £300 deposit.
I will be using the car to go to and from uni everyday, about 30 odd miles a day. Dual carrige ways mostly, but i would like as best fuel consumption as possible, peugeot claims the car can do about 70 odd mpg extra urban, i wasnt sure of many other cars that have quite so many extras with as good mpg?

Hi - you seem to be basing most of your decision around cost - can I suggest you expand on that slightly and work out the all-in 'pence per mile' of the 308 and then work out the pence per mile of some other options (including depreciation, the interest element of a bank loan etc) - you may see that an older, more interesting car which has low depreciation may be similar in cost. In my opinion, a 308 is very dull and the Peugeot brand does't have the magic it once had (20 years ago).
