To RS or not to RS?

depends which rs models you are referring to, I love cossies and mk1 and mk2 escorts, but chose my scooby over buying a focus as I felt the scooby was a better buy and had a motorsport heritage much like the escorts and sierras before.

If I had no baby - Cayman S, otherwise 135i with the S3 a close second.
Don't like current Scoobies, the Evo is just too thirsty, the RS is FWD, the Evora is lovely but a Lotus (Loads Of Trouble, Usually Serious) and the TT RS is a total rip off and has had some poor reviews.
Could never own a Renault either.

When the first ones start rolling, it is to be seen!

The poll is flawed as they aren't all in the same class. I would love a Cayman or TTRS but need 4 seats, so the list becomes a lot smaller then.
As such I need a hatch, so it would be either the RS or the STI.

Mattee - The Evora would win hands down.
I was offered a test drive but due to other commitments just couldn't make it.
My best mate did (he has an '09 Cayman S, amongst others).
Judging by his experience of cars he's raced and owned in the last 20 or so years I hang on his every word.
His opinion is that the Evora is at least one step ahead of the Cayman.
Good enough for me.
I just can't afford one, though.

You can have 4 seats in the Lotus or there's a rear seat delete option for those wanting more luggage space.

What is the list price of all these as well?
Maybe do the poll again, but go for the same class of car and the same basic list price. The results would be much more realistic and interesting then.

Agreed.
Ford Focus RS
Lovely car but far too boy racer for my years, maybe 10 years ago I'd have jumped at one. Would rather take the ST.
BMW 135i
Contender but not a fan of the looks.
Audi TT-RS
Lots of cash but has a very sweet engine. Ultimately it's too impractical.
Subaru WRX STi (300 PS)
Poor economy and massive depreciation kicks this into touch. The look has grown on me but still not a fan of the Korean look!
Subaru WRX 330S
See above.
EVO X (Std)
Had an 8 a few years back and know all about the running costs/depreciation plus the fact it is a niche market and very difficult to sell on.
Audi S3
Would be my choice in this list. Quick, well put together, economically sound. No suprise it was my last car and i kept it longer than any before it.
Porker Cayman S
Yes to a 911 but even then a 2+2 is a little impractical. Can't take the Cayman after having skittled the TTRS.
Lotus Evora
Now we are getting silly, even in 2+2 guise.
Funny on a Subaru forum, the impreza got no votes. Tale of the times maybe.

This poll is pointless, you may as well add some supercars to it. You really cant comprehend comparing similar cars can you?
How can needing 4 seats be an excuse for someone with a family?

All different class of cars. All different in practicallity stakes. All different in price.
Are we comparing new Focus RS with second hand Cayman S? or both new? £28k V's £48k. Approx prices (Option take both Lower or higher).
If second hand - Non of the above.
For the price of a brand new TT-RS or Cayman, you can get a very nice 911.

It is a straight forward poll, end of story.
