Bit chavtastic but am considering the upgrade from my GT3 order
Real price difference isnt that much as some cost options get thrown in for free with the GT3RS like the clubsport package with lightweight seats, paint and adaptive engine mounts
Not sure about the gearbox ratio's as I havent driven a standard car - is shorter ratio's a much better thing on Track - I dont think so as it means your working the box more (a pain on a Turbo maybe less so on a NA car)?, unless they were quite long to begin with?
Not sure of the VAT status with the prices quoted being at 15% - will they honour the VAT inclusive price when VAT changes back to 17.5%........ they should do but will they as they deliver from Feb?, I reckon I may get stung for the difference on the Standard GT3 as deliveries begin Sept but I probably wont have mine until March - so they may charge more - just dont know
I like the fact that the power is getting to more reasonable levels - 500bhp would be a nice figure on a NA car at this weight :-) - give them another 5 years and they'll probably be there.... decatting, and putting on a freeer flowing manifold along with better fuel and a remap will presumably do that now, though not worth the hassle

At least I wont need to use Methanol to boost power
I was in Trouble sunday after Blowing some Methanol up in my face............. not the normal thing people do as the stuff self ignited - still swelling has gone down and I look 100% normal - at least on one side of the face!!

It looks fabulous - if I had the money I would order one.
Go for it Steve you won't regret it!
The 996 GT3 is actually quite long gearing - it is quick but nothing like the gearing of a Jap Spec STI. I imagine even a shorter box will have reasonable gearing. The other thing it that you should be able to order a specific gear ratio spec - there is a catalogue full of them for the Cup Cars.

It will be an epic car but they could have chosen a better colour scheme.
I'm heading off to the Frankfurt motorshow next month where I hear they're unveiling the GT2RS...

Yes its great but really a 911 GT-3 needed wider tracks and wheels, for what?
And this theme, obviously like perpetual motion, will ensure each generation will be wider than even this... the 998GT-3 will be wider than that and the 998GT-3RS will be 85 inches wide!! And yes in 2014 the 998GT-3RS RUF with twin superchargers and 22 inch 445 section tires WILL take the ring record with a time of....7 mintues flat. J

As for the ring record, that was beaten the other day with a time of 6:48.
