I have got a Tiger Cat
bought it of the guy who built it -- about 6 years ago now
cheap insurance/tax and apart from oil changes spent nothing on it in 6 years --- prob do 3k a year in it -- never a single problem, not amazingly fast but great fun

Yep I've got one! Mine is a Locoblade and I've looked in to turbo charging the 919 Blade unit but this will be around the £3k mark so I've given up on that idea! Future plans will be to lose the Blade engine and go for a newer Hayabusa/ZX14R based engine which will give about 140-150 bhp at the wheels instead of the 100 bhp I currently have. Then, if that is not enough I turbo charge that engine!
Obligatory photo:-
I've lots more shots on my website that I can't link to as the gallery is a flash based one but we've lost the sticker on the side and changed the seats for ones that are a lot more comfortable! Oh, and that can fit a broad shoulder 18st chap in!

That looks like a development of the old Alfasud engined Minari - they were based around Stafford IIRC.
Is this a kit version of the car they were touting around a few years ago. I seem to remember they wanted a £30-£40k investment from prospective customers.
Looks good. I almost bought a Minari all those years ago - even visited the "factory".

I was behind a blonde lady on the Wilmslow bypass, she was in a Tiger and wasnt afraid to give it some, she got it very sideways at one point, I was expecting it to dissapear away from me but it didnt, cant have had more than about 100 bhp or she wasnt going for it for me to keep up, was a yellow and had a private plate.
Made me want one !
A Tiger that is, not a blonde lady, actually, both if on offer

Was thinking about getting one of these about 12 months ago .
Blagged a passenger ride in a Mega Busa .
Felt very fast ,very noisy and lots of fun .
Was waiting for a nice Westfield Cosworth to come available but it never happened .Looking at 12K ish for a good one .
Dax Cosworths seem to hold their value as well .
Decided in the end I would not get the use out of it to justify the amount I was going to spend .
Still would not mind one though .A couple of mates have Mac 1,s and use them for Track Days mainly .

Oo, I do like that Boro, very nice indeed
That Mev Sonic looks v good too
I would love to have a dabble at a kit car, from being about 18 ive always fancied one, now I have (more or less) the room, dont really have too much time though sadly so it will probably never happen

I built a Mega 'Blade back in 2001. Used all new parts apart from engine. Spent best part of £13K. (Was 8 years ago!) Kit back then was £9K then add engine, wheels & tyres. Can spend as much or as little as you want. I fitted out using genuine carbon fibre front cycle wings, dashboard, centre tunnel, rear stoneguards. Could prob build a new turbo'd busa yourself for £20K. If you want to spend less, you use s/hand bits instead.

went into Smarts R Us, yesterday and spoke with Paul to get my smart serviced.
In the back they're doing well building these...
The Zonta :: 250BHP New Smart Based Concept Car
now with a Ford Focus engine being put in them!!
The Sonic7 :: 250BHP
They also had a Three wheeler (two at the front, one at the rear) looked like a lotus7 front. This had a Yamaha R1 bike engine fitted, Paul said it will be rapid and brill road handling.

I used to have a Westfield with a 200Hp vauxhall engine, fantastic fun but to dispel a few quotes on this thread...
f1 cars are approx 1500HP/ton at present
7.2 1/4 mile out of a lightweight RWD kit car? Lets see the slip! The turbobusa at TOTB didn't get in the 9's, nor has a caparoT1 as yet. Low 7's needs approx 2000HP/ton

Used to own a VX powered Westfield - 200bhp on throttle bodies and a sound to die for. Spent a fair bit on it - carbon seats, LSD, straight cut gearbox etc. Cost a few quid but transformed the car from where it was when I bought it.
Often wish I'd never sold it - to replace to a similar spec would cost be around £10k which I just can't justify these days
