Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4
My dad is looking for a soft roader and I suggested him the CRV or Rav4, of 2005 or newer. Has anyone ever own them, any comments?

We've got a 2002 CRV, had it from new. 2 litre petrol, averages about 30mpg. Most reliable car we've ever owned. Nothing, but nothing has gone wrong with it in 7 years.
Rav4 was a slightly nicer driver, but CRV won for us as it's better for families with kids.

Probably x2 of the best soft roaders going, I would say the Toyota will be cheaper to insure and service and arguably much cheaper on parts and consumables. My mum has an MY00 avensis, we are ex Honda Shuttle owners, no real complaints throughout ownership.
