Ford RS cars
Looking at the price of Escort Cosworths, effectively 13-15k buys you a decent car and that price has remained fairly static for a number of years. The older Focus RS is now coming into the 8-10k bracket, I wonder how desireable they will be in say another 5-10 years?

I think cars with COSWORTH on them will hold their value considerably more than basic RS versions. A mate of mine recently sold his Sierra RS500 COSWORTH for 22k Mind you it did only have 36.000 miles on it.

I think the MK1 Focus RS will end up having strong residuals as well... Fords rust and Fords break, so the older the cars get, the less will survive and the more people will break the ropey ones for the engine, box, interior, etc etc meaning there will be less cars around, keeping the values of good ones strong.
The FRS have been around 10-12k for a wee while now with high mileage, more tired examples falling to 8k minimum.. yes, there are bargains to be had, but on the whole they've stayed solid, in the same way that the P1 did for a while.
Cheers,
Grant

Being a member of an RS i have followed this marque for over 13 years and in that time i've seen prices of individual models go up and down but the price of parts has gone up 15 fold - try and find a S1 header tank for under £400 or even a new 3dr header tank
The prices will always come back up when their are less on the road making the car's more expensive - i've had my 3dr for 18 months and have £27k to date invested.
The older the ford the more it will cost.

I understand what you mean, i bought my Concours S1 as i knew to build one was going to cost at least £20k so i ended up finding one for sale for £7500 so i snapped it up and when i came to sell it i got my money back as the car was what it was. As for the Cossie this car was bought to make into a car that would turn heads and i have acheived that, yes it's cost near £30k but i love the car to bit's so it's worth every penny to me.
