Audi A3 tdi sport Quattro - experiences?
Hello all, does anyone have any experience of the above cars (search came up fairly fruitless).
I'm looking for a 2001(ish) model i.e. before the face lift and just wondered if any of the scoobynet wise had any pearls of wisdom or horror stories.
Similar cars that i have driven to this were seat leon tdi, both the 90hp version and 110hp version (hated the 90, 110 was not too bad but lacked something ) and a golf gt tdi (again it was either 115hp or 130hp) which i though was really nice.
I'm basically looking for a diesel to replace the impreza sport as a daily runner for work etc and fancy something with more torque and more refined on the motorway, i don't want to however loose any enjoyment of a car that handles well, hence the quattro option.
any advice would be gratefully appreciated (as are recommendations for anything else if these turn out to be pap) Ideally i'm looking around the £6k maximum mark (was looking at the 130hp version engine).
Cheers.
Jim

The same model as above? if so how much would i regret getting rid of the impreza for one lol.
I realise i say 6k maximum, however change left over for some bits/remaps and the like would be nice.
Thanks for the response...

The quattro isn't no where near a four wheel drive, I'd spend my money on a decent 130pd FWD and upgrade the shocks springs bushes and anti roll bar. I had previously a 2001 S3 and a 03 Cupra R and there was not much in it but the Cupra R felt so much more planted as the S3 felt wallowy, Have you thought of a late 130-150 Cupra diesel? Worth a roadtest.

Cheers for the responses guys, i admit i fancied a quattro as i thought it was fairly similar to AWD, this said there are obviously plenty more non-quattro versions out there so obviously more choice. i think id prefer to stay away from the leon as the last one i had i could not stand, that said it was a while ago and a pants version so it probably is worth having a test drive in both audi's and the leon.
Cheers again...
