Handle well, go well, potentially disastrous reliability and the worst customer service of any brand.

As above.

Handle well, & go pretty quickly.

Downsides are Renault reliability, build quality, & Renault dealerships.

Personally, I can't see past it looks. Truly awful looking car. Hate the rear end.

I currently have a Megane R26, the one with 230bhp and the LSD, a very good car, probably the best front wheel drive car I've driven. Also pretty quick, I've had 6 scoobs including standard UK, PPP and STi and easily as quick as a UK car.

Yes, the looks are an acquired taste and build is certainly not up to Germanic standards but they are a lot better built than they used to be.... I bought mine new back in June, HUGE discount made it fantastic value and have to say that I'm really enjoying this car, superb brakes, great seats, also sounds pretty good and the turbo 'chirp' always makes me smile...

Second hand market as it is means there are some real bargains out there, a lot of car for the money if you can live with the looks.

I was thinking about one of these a few weeks ago. I don't actually mind the looks now, it's just the french car thing that I can't get on with.

The one above looks very nice, and it's nice to see they've put some decent seats in a car for once. Are they standard for this model?

scooby_matt, yes, Recaro seats are standard on the R26, half leather/alcantara, full leather Recaros were available as part of the 'Lux' pack.

Details here

Morning Andy

Do you know what, this is actually the first car I've 'really' enjoyed for a while and I've had a few!

Still got the Mini?

It's one of those cars that I'd love to drive but probably not own.
The R26 is rather tasty though.

Hiya, yes I have, but being seriously tempted by some of these credit crunch bargains, your car looks great in white, might have to test drive one, must catch up some time.

I was going to get one of these just before I bought the scoob. Marmots looks which I actually love, the only thing which put me off was the depreciation of them at the time. If one came along cheap enough today,I'd buy it as a daily driver without any hesitation. 225 base model that is
