Default RRS TDV8 - oh dear!

Well I had a test drive in one of these today, very nice car it was too.
However, we sat down to work the figures out and on a PCP it was only going to have a risidual of 11k.... I asked if that was right and the finance guy said it was!!

I am no banker, but I know that an 18 month old car now thats worth not far off 40k to be worth almost 30K LESS in 3 years time is kinda a bad deal!! The best part of £1000 per month in depreciation?!

I think the anti-4x4 types will get their way now as even people with a few quid will think twice about losing that kind of dosh!

I liked them when they came out, really good looking but a lot seem to be driven by utter tools round here.

I really like these too, really nice to drive, fancy one next year. Its between a BMW 530d MY06/07 or RR Sport, don't know if i could justify the RR over the good fuel economy of the beemer though. The reliability is a bit worrying too.

I love Rangeys but could not live with the fuel costs . My mate has a 2007 Tdi 6 Sport but its only averaging around 24MPG!! He paid 60K new, now worth around 30K if he is lucky!! Go and test drive a 530D! I have an 07 330D Msport as my everyday drive, its a beast, been mapped to 275 BHP but its the never ending torque (441 Lbft) that gets me every time, feels a lot quicker than my previous Scoob (375 HP WRX)!! Eates 540i's for breakfast! Oh and did i mention nearly 40MPG average!!

The only other 4x4 id own besides my Scoob is a 911 Turbo!!

Not really, this WAS a used car - already 18 months old, 39k, worth 11k in 3 years... if you are lucky.

My money is going on a 997 thanks!

The TDV8 is a pearl of an engine, if a little thirsty.

I like them, but they are generally driven by ******* in my area, still wouldn't mind one though.

Depreciation is stiff on all the 4x4's currently isn't it? don't think the RRS is any worse than the others.

How were you arranging PCP on a used car?

i thought RR Sports were the domain of blingers and people who get off on landslide depreciation......... think you would need to be a sado to stomach that sort of depreciation.

Pity the gearboxes can't cope with any significant power upgrade.

RRs 'boxes struggle with tuned TDV6s as well.

Just have a look at the current depreciation on Porsche 911's ! Trade values currently £3-£4k lower than Glasses Guide, we have been offered a couple of Carrera 2's in part exchange but can't get Porsche dealers or specialists to offer sensible money. All bets are off at the moment when it comes to residual values (whatever the brand !)
