Tuning a diesel Corsa
One of my sons has a 05 plate Corsa 1.7 SRi CDTi
It has 98 bhp and around 177ft lb of torque.
He's found a firm who will come to him and remap it to 140bhp and 248 ft lb .
The cost is £337 all in.
Does it sound, a) feasible, and b) about right for price?
I can post the company name but I know how uptight the webmaster is about stuff like that so will PM anyone who wants to know.
Cheers

i had a fabia vrs a while ago and standard figures were 130bhp and 220lb/ft (i think) - jabba remap later finished with 182bhp and 320lb/ft for around £230 so your figures sound right
i've used upsolute before (mk4 gti golf) which gave an extra 42bhp for £305 fitted at home

Careful with carpark tuners, a colleague of mine had this done on his Golf 130 TDI – took it for a before and after on a RR and although the power and torque was up there the map was a mess! He insisted it was removed and changed to custom code, more money but SMOOTH as silk.........
Do some research, get a decent tuner to do the map.

If it's the firm near me which I think you're referring to, who offer ecu rempa for everything for daft low prices, I would stay well away. But if it's someone else, can't help sorry Tanya

I got my Saab 9-3 done, by a company called BSR, plug in modely, it was £600 but its good, only trouble is it started stuttering under boost, new plugs and V-Power sorted it.
Go on the firums and get actual recommendations and perhaps budget for a clutch if its done a lot of miles, my cousin got his Leon 150 done, the remap was great but the clutch cant cope.

I've been doing a bit of personal re-mapping recently (saab only) and doing research, the difference between a good tuner and an average one is huge. Ok - sometimes the difference on the road isnt as much as you'd expect but many tuners are 'agricultural' and just rack up the boost and hope for the best.
Put it this way - with a bit of time, a dabbler like me can turn out a smoother map than some of the tuners do.
The good ones look at all the parameters and fine tune the whole map - and in doing this show an understanding of how it all hangs together.
