I share your love for these

Me and the Mrs sat in one at motor show couple of years back and loved it, I actually really liked the simplicity of the interior.

I was sooooooooooo close to buying one but opted for a 34 GTR instead.

Look amazing in white, best colour IMHO.

I might be dreaming but I'm sure Dark Blue Mark who used to post on here bought one.

Prices for the Exige S (supercharged 218bhp) are starting to drop now, I've seen a couple hovering around £24k. Most were £30-31k about a year ago when I was looking.

I'll definately be getting one, probably not for another 2 years though (hopefully will be sub £20k for an "S" by then).

My mate has an 05 S2 exige (not s) and it's the best car I've driven bar none!! One day I hope to have an Exige S 280 (aftermarket tuning pack with 275bhp) complete with Probax (sp?) seats. Sensational handling, 930kg and 275bhp.......game on!!!!!!

Liking the sound of that conversion, who does it?

I'm a bit wary of "official" lotus tuning packages. Seen a couple of europa's that had uprated lotus exhaust and ecu, was meant to be 260 ish bhp and only produced about an extra 2bhp over standard !!

One day, I'll definately have one, even the Mrs loves them so won't have to talk her into it

My only slight concerns is that a 280 Exige will set you back around £30k all in assuming you buy a fairly nice example of the car rather than an older one.

However, a VX220 turbo with Stage 2 or 3 (245 or 260bhp) can be had for under half that (£13-15k). It's 75% the car the Exige is for less than 50% of the money. If you were wearing your sensible hat.....

Very good point about the vx220, great cars and half the price.

My head would say by a vx but my heart says exige all the way

I tend to think with my **** so not sure which I'd actually buy, pmsl

Exige just looks bonkers though. Worth paying a bit more for vs the Vauxhall Exige isn't a girly convertible either

A good mate of mine owns this little beauty. An S1 Exige tuned to 190bhp.
Doesn't feel especially quick in a straight line but it does grip and handle like nothing else I've ever been in.
It's very hot and noisy but it turns heads wherever it goes and loves tracks!

Lovely car

I nearly bought an exige but went for an s1 elise instead, and then spent a bit of money making it faster

My brother recently test drove one, and was coming from a 911 turbo with over 500/500, and tossed up between this and a 993 Targa as a daily hack.

He loved the Exige and remarked its one of the quickest point to point cars he has even been in, an very quick. But remarked that it was even more harcore than any elise, with naff all visability, totally rock hard suspension and nightmare to get in an out. Basically its a race car.! And not sure it could even be classified as a second/third car.

Sorry to ruin your parade.

I had a brand new exige in chrome orange at the start of this year. I owned it 4 months and it broke down 3 times, the alcantara trim on the dash was always lifting, the window seal on the drivers door fell off, people damaged it out of jealousy!!!

All in the drive was amazing but i would never even step foot near one again. I wish i had kept my sti 8 that i had previously!!
