Vauxhall's 1.9 CDTI engine
Are there any external signs to show it's the 150bhp variant and not the 120bhp version? So far the only thing I can think of is that the "TI" on the badge on the back is in red instead of silver.
I'm asking because there are loads on the Autotrader that say 150bhp but when you check with the DVLA or Autotrader's own search, they show up as 120bhp.
I don't want to buy something that has been advertised as something it isn't.

Yes the TI on a 150 is red and the 120 silver. Easily changed though. Easiest way is to check the service booklet (as it will be written in there) or check the emmissions data on the log book 159G/KM = 120 165G/KM = 150 TBH i've driven both and there is hardly any difference!!

Cheers!
To be honest I'm not buying a diesel for it's performance (I have a 340bhp/355lb/ft sti for that) so not too bothered if it's the 150 or 120bhp - just as long as they are advertising the right car.

On Vectras easiest way to get the 150bhp one is get the SRi.

Funnily enough it's the SRi we're looking at. Not many estates around though.
We need one for the Rottweiler's cage.

Now I would be well up for a bit of that but I'd have to convince the missus as it's her car.

You can also pop the bonnet up, 8v 120ps engines have the oil cap on the left hand side of the engine when you look into it, 16v 120/150 ps engines have the oil cap on the right hand side of the engine, (its the better engine), but very reliable, in pretty much everything that isnt german, strong as hell as you can see with the tuned 888 cars on the 16v engines (no uprated internals etc, just mapped) and your looking at 40mpg in town and 50+ at 70-80mph

Although all the insurance websites have it as a 120.

It was on the right as you stand at the front of the car looking in IIRC. Not collecting it til Saturday so I can't double check and the grey matter is struggling these days but I'm 99% sure that's where it was.
