Default Booted frankenstein cars e.g Vauxhall Belmont

Anyone owned or can add to my list of horrific 'booted' Frankenstein creations - where the factory took a perfectly decent hatch and tried to widen its appeal with a saloon shape version? Here goes:
  • Vauxhall Belmont
  • Ford Orion
  • Vauxhall Nova saloon
  • Renault Megane?
  • Ford Focus?
  • VW Golf (wasn't there a freakish estate version?)
If you've owned one of these, why LOL ?

Same here. It was 89, I was 17 and with fuel injection, leccy windows and a factory amp for the tape player I might as well have been driving a Lambo as far as my mates and the local girls were concerned

I find a lot of the folding hard top cars have this look, Megane, focus, astra, 306cc look like the stuck on boots.

LOL but 309s are still shocking to look at I think. Sounds like a lot of Orion fans on here. I suppose they were more of a proper model than a booted Nova - especially the Ghia LOL

I don't think you can even find them nowadays without DIY window tinting film installed can you? Good call about the latest Impreza going the other way...

The only one I regularly see about is a very nice 1600E version that an old chap drives about - it does look very well cared for and standard

Superb, this thread goes from strength to strength. Keep the pics coming. That Renault 7 looks like a mini version of the Renault 12 we had when I was little. That booted Clio is rank though.

I don't think an Orion can be an Orion without a 'Motorsport' sunstrip tbh. In fact sod it, let's all go out and buy an Orion, be like a club within a club.
