Grand Espace?

Grand Espace?
Ok, not very 'Scooby' I know, but my bro has been looking at a cheap MPV type vehicle able to bus his wife and 3 kids around.
He has seen a Renault Grand Espace for sale. It's a 2000 year 2.016v petrol and an auto, up for £2,695. Condition seems good but we have not seen it up close yet
Anyone know anything about these? I know generally they are not terribly reliable but any other information would be gratefully received - even if it 'avoid at all costs!!'
Cheers

we had an old g reg espace, believe it or not at the time it was the best, because they are so light they are more better on fuel than the rest ( diesel excluded ) so versatile, good steeering lock, fairly comfy, only problem was that the top hose went, so the water needed toping up and if not done properly you get a air lock in the system and the automatic choke stays on ( there is a simple cure) just remember that with all the seats in there aint a lot of boot space.

Pretty unreliable, gearboxes are a weak point, as are electrics, stick with a Sharan, Alhambra, Galaxy. I wouldnt entertain one at that price, it will be a nightmare.
