I currently have an escort 6, but the problem is I can't help thinking a mondeo would be better, so I thought othere opinion and a debate will give me a better idea.

The best driving and handling Ford on sale at the moment is the Ford Focus 2.0l Zetec ESP.
Yes it needs more power and doesn't look much but is far better than anything Ford currently sells (including the Puma).
Roll on the ST170,RS and if it ever comes the Cosworth.

Just to add Mr wb2,
The Escort 6 was the worst car Ford had on sale in the late 90's. I had one a 1.8 GhiaX 16v 115bhp. A friend of mine bought it from me and has had it for the last four years. I drove it recently and they are really so far behind the current crop of motors.
If you want something bigger the Mondeo handles very well for a big car. I am currently running a MY00 V6. If you dont need the size or can't run to a V6 get a Focus Zetec, you will simply not believe how far things have moved on.
Cheers
