New SUV and Small Car

New SUV and Small Car
Mulling over options, the wife's car(Golf) is 3.5 years old now and although only done 30k we are thinking about changing. So looking at small car around 10k, ideally 5 doors but not show stopper, decent residuals, fun to drive bla de bla.
If we change that will mean my S3 will need to get bigger So was considering the new VW Tiguan, but loading it up is expensive, or the Honda CR-V. The VW residuals are predicted to be excellent, but the CRV is cheaper.
Then get something fun for a laugh
Any advice?

Just been looking at the new Tiguan today with my sister (looking for her new car) and for a "Small" SUV they are quite large. Bloody expensive too for like you say once you start loading it up.
Surprisingly quite nice though.

Yup big car, defo for a family. Shame leather is £1400 plus Sat nav and a few toys knocking at 25k. the CRV is nice but not as well put together and I loathe the front of it. The 170 engine is out, and that would be my choice, but not nearly as special as my S3. Might put any changes off for a bit
On the small car front, had a look at the 500 today, very cool, and the Clio, wife prefers the Clio!! I guess she really wants 5 doors

Was she wearing a very tall hat? I`m 6'1" and have never noticed a lack of headroom in the back of my mate`s CRV.
