Talking Nissan R35 Gt-R

I'm getting very very excited now. I hope it does not take to long too arrive. Anyone else getting one? I'm off to see it in Geneva soon

Question

I'm hoping that the new GT-R will hold it's value as well as the previous models but I doubt it very much. Were the R34's limited to 50 UK cars or was that the 22B. God! 30 years of age and I'm already loosing my memory

400 allocated to the UK, guess residuals will depend a bit on the timescale of delivery.

Thanks for the links, Mr Leigh. Quite simply an awesome motorcar. (I'd still rather have the Porsche on the drive though ).

I'd rather have the Porsche also but it is £30k more in that spec. It sure blows the current M3 into the weeds though. I think BMW priced it so wrong, I think it should have been closer to £45k new. It is not as good as an RS4 imo.

Residuals should be strong, 400 UK cars will hold their money well and they will be coming over in limited volumes, and the Spec V should hold its value as they are being produced 20 per month for the global market so very limited numbers will be entering our shores

It's the one in the Autocar link; L17 CHO. It must cost the guy a fortune in transfer fees.

Thanks for the links. Toying with ordering one. When you're in Geneva would you be kind enough to take a piccy of the back seats and the boot please?

When is yours due for delivery and where did you place the deposit?

Thanks and congrats

My deposit is with Middlehurst, the base GTR is due march 09 but i suspect putting a deposit on now will get you one 6 or so months later as their list is pretty substantial and i assume other dealers are filling up too, but i may be wrong, the Spec V i ordered is due august/sept of 09 fingers crossed that won't be delayed as according to mr andy middlehurst i'm first in the uk list

GTR base model priced at £55k, Premium edition at £60k and Spec V at £70k

Premium has the BOSE sounds and few more creature comforts

Spec V is 100kilo lighter, strictly two seater, half cage, and more power, trick(er) LSD, carbon brakes and limited edition colours

Details to be all confirmed on the 6th March

best quote ever

"Oh another thing, this car is not for the discreet. If you enjoy the Hollywood lifestyle, or at least aspire to it, then this is the quickest way of buying into fame. Everyone stares – give this car a few more months exposure and it’ll be monumental. In white, you’re the messiah, returned. With a Mr T haircut."

great little first impression from a GT3 owner

Just had a very interesting call off my mate who is currently at the show (all expenses paid by nissan ) regarding UK pricing, availability, freebies, spec & the news on the Vspec for the lucky ones who have a GTR already ordered. All sounds a good deal

550bhp, around £80K but not till 2010 apparently.

On the plus side the GTR prices are slightly lower than expected, with the premium 'black' model coming in at £55K, sat nav not available till Sept 09
