How dreary is your "daily" workhorse.......
Assuming most people on here that do lots of miles for work etc will have something else (as opposed to their Scoobies etc) for the daily drudge.....
Before you all fall over laughing, it was a one owner with 50k miles, got it for £900 and cheap on fuel as I do huge mileages for getting to/from work.
This will take some beating.......1998 Rover 400 hatch 2ltr Turbo Diesel, worse still, i thought it was 103bhp and it turned out to be the 83bhp version. Had it since last May, put 20k on it and I'm now losing the will to live.
Can anyone beat that?........

1995 Golf MK3 1.8 Driver on 130K.
Iffy off-red colour. Faded rear quarter after some idiot scoured the paint.
Been in the family for over 10 years. Mother used to go back and for up the M4 for most of that time.
Gave it to me to keep miles of the Scoob. Sold the scoob and now use it when I can't afford to feed my 4.0 Jeep
It might be the workhorse but its barely looked after and starts every time and even after a couple of weeks non use its perfect.

OK, the vote goes to Sportwagonroy for the moment, however, has anyone noticed that the worst of the rest (including mine) are all Rovers
As for the rest of you, Skylines etc as daily drivers? Shame on you!!

At the moment its a e46 325 touring
Annoys the hell out of me;
Crashy ride, feel every pothole and bump and wallow round every bend, it's slow, torqueless, gutless, thirsty (especially when compared to a 6.0Monaro ), cramped, uncomfortable and dull to drive. Heater takes ages to warm up (despite new thermostat), unstable at high speed, and hasn't even got the power to break traction (although the Michelins account alot to that).
In fairness, its not exactly crap at anything, but on the other hand its not brilliant at anything either.
You can image how insane I'd go if I had to drive something worse like a 2.0 Mondeo
I did have a Rover 216 GSi for a bit which I bought off the company I worked for, I quickly realised my mistake and sold it for £500

Just bought a Mondeo off a chap on here. Cushy! Slow as anything, totally gutless even though it is the 2.0 but has electric everything and looks like doing well in excess of 400 miles on a tank of juice so can't complain to be honest!

1997 automatic Nissan Pulsar 2.0l diesel with a thumping 60bhp. Bought six years ago in the mistaken belief that a diesel would be economical. It is not -when it only has 60bhp and you have to cane it for it to move. Beware any junctions or trying to merge. I have actually had a race against it. Missus driving and me running. Absolutely caned it.
It is gutless, thirsty and so bad to drive. It is really an appliance with wheels. Just replaced it with this as a daily driver
From 60 to 500bhp

Got myself a Rover 220 TD on an R plate off a mate for £250!!
Got 98000 on the clock, it doesn't like it when it dips below around 2 degrees and it generally doesn't start but other than that I love it. I love how you can just roll these cars into walls when parking and you don't give a toss, its brilliant!!

£200 F-Reg POLO
Most reliable car I've owned to date and only has 54k on the clock !!!
Lack of power steering, windows, stereo and grunt is starting to grate after 6 months of use though. Spends more time parked at the pub than it does at my house

I thought I'd have this one sorted - but I think Tidgy and Stainy might have me beaten.
Ultra-practical load space
Rally inspired interior.. look.. it has a fire extinguisher!
1.4 1994 Pug 106 XND. A whole 50bhp of diesel power when new, and capable of an indicated 90mph.. downhill.. and a favorable wind.

Woo hoo, a competition I stand a chance of winning. j reg 106 xs with knackered heater matrix, so no heating and the added bonus of either boiling hot or freezing cold water sproadically pouring out of the footwell heater vent. Some panels are white, those without moss have faded. Purchased for the grand sum of £400......25k miles ago, though to be fair we have treated it to a whole brand new exhaust system last year...£68 inc vat & fitting
Summat a bit more shouty & yellow at weekends

Oh how I miss my B-reg Polo, 1984 1.3CL
But I liked that car; it was fun in a death defying way, so never a dreary drive.
At £200, It never promised me anything, but did me proud. After a quick tune up, it was doing 35mpg and blasting round Telford and the M5 at undetermined high speeds. Undetermined because the speedometer only went up to 100.

Ha, Im winning so far, 1.4 Seat Ibiza, bought it for £150 from the bay.
Both front wheel bearings whine like a *****, CV joints are both gone and has more dent that.. well a very dented thing.
And its green
Doesnt even have a 12v outlet
Oh and you cant lock/unlock the driver door so you have to unlock the passenger and lean in to unlock the door, if you ever bother locking it
